Annie

Level 1 Dental Assistant

Annie has been working with Dr. Metaxas and Dr. Pollard since January 2004. Her favorite thing about orthodontics is meeting new people every day, helping them to fix their teeth, and seeing how happy they are with their beautiful smiles after their treatment is complete. She also enjoys working alongside Dr. Metaxas and Dr. Pollard. She appreciates how the doctors treat the entire team and their patients like family. Outside of the practice, Annie loves watching movies, bowling, and shopping.

Donna

Office Manager

Donna is our wonderful office manager. She has been with the office since June, 2004, and she says that she still enjoys coming to work every day. Donna is an exceptional team member. She works closely with the doctors and staff to make sure that we provide our patients with the kind of care that exceeds their expectations. Over the years, Donna has had the opportunity to see the dramatic impact a beautiful smile can have on a patients self-confidence and self-esteem, and she looks forward to being a part of many patients' life-changing experiences for years to come.

When she's not at the practice, Donna enjoys Alpine skiing in the winter months and riding her motorcycle in the summer. She also enjoys performing with community theatre groups, as well as being in the audience for theatrical and musical events.

Falguni

Scheduling coordinator / Financial coordinator

Falguni, or Fal, as many of us at the practice know her, is a scheduling coordinator and financial coordinator. We've been fortunate to have Fal working here since July 2008. She enjoys meeting new patients and their families, and is always available to help book appointments, set up financial contracts, and work out any financial aspects of your treatment with you. Fal finds working in orthodontics to be very rewarding, especially when she gets to see all of the patients' fabulous smiles.

Janice (Zippy)

Treatment Coordinator

Zippy has been part of Dr. Metaxas and Dr. Pollard's team since October 2002. She has well over 38 years of experience in dentistry. Zippy's duties as a treatment coordinator include coordinating and assisting new patients, scheduling treatment, writing financial arrangements, and discussing concerns patients may have regarding their treatment. The exciting things about orthodontics are the changes that each patient goes through during their treatment and the big smile once they have finished treatment. Zippy enjoys working with Dr. Metaxas and Dr. Pollard, and having a fun time with her team members. Zippy lives in Markham with her husband and daughter. When she's not at the practice, Zippy enjoys walking, reading, and being in the company of good friends.

Jill

Registered Dental Hygienist

Jill has been working with Dr. Metaxas and Dr. Pollard since October 2004. While she only works 4 days a week at the practice, her warm, friendly smile leaves a lasting impression all week long. Jill's favorite thing about orthodontics is that she's always learning and every day is faced with new challenges. Her patients are also great, and she enjoys having the opportunity to care for, and teach, such a diverse group of people. In her spare time, Jill enjoys walking her dog, interior design, and cooking.

Lesley

Registered Dental Hygienist

Lesley is a graduate of the dental hygiene program at George Brown College. She has been a member of the team since 2002 Her duties include placement and removal of different orthodontic appliances, appliance adjustments, and patient education. Lesley also works at the Hospital for Sick Children in the Orthodontic Department, Centre for Craniofacial Care and Research and she teaches in the Continuing Education program at George Brown College to dental hygienists in the area of orthodontics. She likes working with patients of all ages and provides their treatment with a caring nature and gentle touch. Lesley enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Sharka

Registered Dental Hygienist

Sharka is a Bachelor of Science graduate from York University. Sharka has worked in orthodontics most of her professional career, which spans over 20 years. She joined the practice of Dr. Metaxas and Dr. Pollard in 1993. Sharka enjoys working here because it is a progressive, leading-edge practice, and both doctors believe in continuing education for their staff. As an orthodontic dental hygienist her duties include clinical care of patients such as placing and removing braces, changing arch wires, cementing bands, taking impressions etc. She also provides patient education. Sharka has been an active member of the Dental Hygiene Orthodontic Study Club since its inception in 1994. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, skiing, container gardening and reading.

Victoria

Registered Dental Hygienist

Victoria has been a member of Dr. Metaxas and Dr. Pollard's orthodontic team since June of 1995. The care and compassion that Dr. Metaxas and Dr. Pollard have for their clients and staff are what make Victoria proud to be a part of their team. One of the most exciting aspects of working as an orthodontic dental hygienist is experiencing the excitement and joy that comes every day as clients begin to notice changes to their smile. It is rewarding for Victoria to play a part in helping someone achieve a bright, confident smile that will last a lifetime.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Donna has worked at our practice since February 2001, and in the orthodontic field since 1981. She loves being part of a dynamic team, creating beautiful, functional smiles, and working on cases that range from simple crowding to more complex and surgical cases. She observes the aesthetic and functional changes in a patient, as well as increased patient confidence and self-esteem. She enjoys the positive and creative environment at this practice, and looks forward to sharing in this exciting adventure with you. Outside of work, Donna loves to travel, trek, kayak, garden, and practice yoga.
